一、選擇分辨率和動態性能

分辨率是試驗機的一個重要參數，合適的分辨率將有利于測量的解析度，測量出較小的分度，有效分辨率和動態性能是一對矛盾，一味的提高有效分辨率是以犧牲動態性能(帶寬)為代價的，帶寬的降低直接導致的結果是材料屈服波動不明顯甚至出現屈服就是一個平臺的現象，所以在選型是也要對這對參數進行有效的考慮；

二、選擇精度等級

目前國內試驗機的精度普遍使用1級和0.5級兩種，對于一般的材料試驗選擇1級的試驗機完全足夠，沒有必要多花錢提高精度，對于科學研究和材料分析就需要0.5級精度的試驗機；其實對于0.5級和1級精度的試驗機在技術上差別并不明顯，校驗的方法和手段基本是一樣的，這是修正點的不一樣上，隨著傳感器技術的發展，傳感器元件的線性度已經達到一個很高的水準，只要測量電路沒有缺陷，抗干擾性能好的話，所有的試驗機都會達到0.5級的精度是沒有問題的；

三、選擇量程

根據試驗材料的載荷選擇所需要的試驗機載荷(即量程)，推薦材料試驗載荷在試驗機量程的70％――90％左右為佳，這樣既保證了試驗的分辨率也可以延長試驗機的使用壽命；
